» Poem: My Death Letter
My Death Letter
written by Poison Ivy
04:09 AM 9/18/04
Fall to my grave, begging forgiveness on bended knees,
asking heaven above to please send me back
It's too late now, you waited too long,
this is how it ends-you knew from the beginning.
My death was unknown to you at first,
when you heard about it, your heart did stop
An accident, surely, you thought it must be,
but you think to yourself
"she'd never end her life over me."
The life of our love is now gone forever,
what once was a happy moment.
"I'm not worth dying over", you think,
to calm the pain,
you took the bottle and swallowed it down.
You hurt me when alcohol controlled your life,
so, I, in return, i hurt you
by leaving you were you won?t find me.
The note said it all, told of my pain,
of the heartache and longing I'd never feel again.
You read, re-read, and read it once more,
the third time you read it
it all became so clear
why the knife was there next to my dead hand
my pail, drained face, and wounded wrists
showed why i was in the emergency bed.
While you wept in the waiting room with the note in your hand
The note of my death went something like this:
"My dearest love, and greatest enemy-
It all began with a few simple words.
My love, my life, I'll miss you so much,
your sweet embrace, your kisses, your voice.
You loved me and you never lied about that,
as my purity was casually thrown around.
You knew I'd do anything for your love once more,
but all you could do was intoxicate yourself.
My love, my hate, all swept away,
for your selfishness, soon you will understand.
I couldn't keep you, the alcohol beat us,
all of your deception, while you thought it was fun.
Now you will be punished with the burden of my suicide,
till the bitter end, till your very last breath..."
As you read this, I know you'll be overcome with depression,
knowing in reality, it will be washed away in misery.
So as you pray to the heavens, asking
?Why am i the one to blame? Why??
just remember my letter, as you cry.
