what is a poet?
written by Poison Ivy04:20 AM 9/18/04Is a poet usually a depressed person who writes their feelings on a piece of paper?
Talking about that they want to die,
Or how the wish someone else would?
A lot of people think that way of a poet.
Well, here is how i write.
I write about my feelings, yes
Good or bad.
And who doesn’t want to die when life just sucks?
I write about my fantasy,
Or about the nightmare i had last night.
Sometimes i write about a bad day,
Or my last heartbreak.
I’ll write about the memory of my first kiss,
And how i wish, it had never happened.
I’ll write about how i wish i could ride on the back of a dragon,
And get to be one myself.
And burn down the house of my enemy.
I’ll write about a story of killing a best friend,
And waking up with the sound of her scream still ringing in my ear.
I write about a paradise all my own,
In a place where no one can find me.
I write about my past when that’s all i can think about,
Or when i went to Disneyland for the first time.
A poet is a writer
no matte what the subject
so write, when you really want.
So that’s what i write about.
This is just a clarification
To what a poet really is. |
