Why Can't You Trust Me?

Have I ever done you wrong?
Have I ever lied to you?
Have I ever misled you?
No, I haven't and I don't make it a point to.
I'm not like every other teen
Who is influenced easily.
I have dreams
And I have a future!
Nothing can take that away from me!
I know who I want to be!
I DON'T drink
And I DON'T do drugs
No matter what you think.
You say you smell marajuana in my closet
Well you're wrong!
Yes, I have been asked to smoke
And even to drink and drive,
But I know those would mess up my life
And I could never get back on track!
I am a good kid
And I don't have sex
No matter what you hear.
People make up rumors because they don't believe
That a teen can not do something wrong.
I won't have sex
Until after I'm married,
I respect myself more than that.
I have morals.
I have a future that I am looking forward to
And I don't want anything to come between me
And what I could be.
You should trust me
Because I know my limitations,
But I know you never will
Simply because I am a teen.
