My Guardian Angel

Each and every day
I know because of what goes on
As I walk along my way
To my right is a young boy
Who can't be more than ten
And here comes a car speeding by
Oh my gosh they just shot him.
To my left is a pretty girl
A tender age of seventeen
She pulls out a knife and stabs herself
Who could do such a thing?
I know the same thing could happen to me
That I'm at risk all the time
And that is why I look to God,
To be avoided in crime
I see my angel watching over me
She dances above my head
She is there protecting me
Even while I am in bed
It is she that gives me strength
To continue along my way
And it is she that gives me hope
In my search for a better day...
