Neighbor

no matter whats wrong
she's been in this world
for some time and still stays strong
she reciently lost her cat to old age
and now only has two
she may be hurting from disaster
but to look youd have no clue
she's always happy
and i admire her for that
i look forward to seeing her smile
everytime we chat
shes the kind of neighbor
that people wish they had
in all the time we've been here
ive never seen her mad
any negative energy in her
you cannot detect
so for mary i have alot
of well deserved respect |

i had to write a poem about a person i respected, i started writing about my cat and the teacher flipped out and threw my poem in the trash...i guess talking about my cat licking his ass isnt apropriate...and then i wrote one that was too depressing cause i was writing about a friend of mine who commited suicide and how i respect his courage to turn his back on everyone and follow his dream...that wasnt apropriate either...damn teachers
