I watched them all with hungry eyes,
Family and friends,
Mum in the kitchen carving the meat,
Every day hungry eyes.
My mother always said you are what you eat,
One night the hunger took me,
A screaming animal inside me,
Took over.
I crept into his room,
You are what you eat,
Stalked him,
Woke him,
A lamb to the slaughter,
I had good intentions,
Touched his flesh,
Warm,
I stifled his scream as I tore,
Hot knife through butter,
You are what you eat.
Convulsions rapt me,
Darkness took me,
You are what you eat,
I cowered and shook,
I hope it doesn't’t rain tomorrow,
His jacket was still warm,
The smell overpowering,
The hunger sufficed,
You are who you eat... |
