yes to that wonderful feeling
my release slipping down my throat
the burning sensation in my chest
...Yes...
yes to the fact that i hurt you
broke your promise, witness to your tears
i'm sorry for how you feel, but if anything, i'm the weak one
lowering myself to that level, happiness was a phase long past
...Yes...
yes the drink did help
easing the pain, it never made it worse
yes i chose a shot of vodka
then a shot of your love
shoosing weakness over strength, it wasn't just you in my head
a vision, the feeling, my failure to what we have
but seeing, feeling the strength of this bond on your part
reminds me everytime how much i've hurt you
...Yes...
yes it was a good feeling drinking away my problems
i knew, right form the start something like this would happen
something to bring us to the breaking point
thought i drank away your love
drank till i was so far gone, i wouldn't care if i died
taking in what you have to say, tryin to break this habit
i once thought that there was nothing left for me
just that lonely place in my head, locked inside
crying for help, and you've come
stepped into this helpless life and given me hope
hope for a new day, better than yesterday
better than how i was, i've been through it all
you're the reason i stand tall today
i know i'm falling faster, harder than i ever have
understand that it was hard destroying a part of me
my bitter half, but i know i haven't left your grasp
my arms are around you now, wanting to protect you
i've got to be a man about this, face my problems head on
now they're gone, and all that remains is that light
from which has dimmed since i began this fight
i can see now that you've always been there
right beside me, the voice helping me move on
what doesn't break us, makes us stronger
...Yes...
we've eliminated the hatred within
tomorrow's a new day, so let's let out story begin... |
