» Poem: Unexpected Death
Unexpected Death
written by lost_and_forgotten
02:18 AM 6/8/04
I hear a loud crash
And crackling as glass shatters
To the floor,
Shinning like diamonds
Against the black tile.
A shadowy figure
Stands above me.
I am too scared to move
Or make a sound.
I am going to die.
The figure comes near me
And I can smell cologne.
I recognize the scent.
It is my boyfriend.
I relax and chuckle to myself.
How could I have been so frightened?
He would never harm me
For he loves me
More than anyone.
Just then I feel
Cold metal
Pressed against my head.
His hand rips at my hair,
Pulling me upwards
Toward his face
Where he kisses me
One last time
Before he pulls the trigger.
I am dead.
He sobs on the ground
Kneeling in my pooling blood
Unsure of what he has done,
For he didn't want to kill me,
No,
He loved me.
But still, I am dead.
And he killed me.
