» Poem: Darkness consumes
Darkness consumes

The night is dark,
You feel me near.
Your body trembles,
Your mind is numb with fear.

You turn ever so slowly,
And look into my eyes.
Your smile is false,
Your fear you can’t disguise.

I smile back,
But my smile is real.
I bare my teeth,
My smile becomes a sneer.

I take your arm in my hand,
And a gasp escapes your lips.
A tear falls from your eye,
I tighten my grip.

I shake you fiercely,
To help you see.
Us together,
Was meant to be.

You can’t escape it,
Except by death.
And if that’s the case,
I’ll be the cause of your last breath.

So I push you one last time,
And see you fall,
So quickly from the balcony,
Your body looks so small.

But even dead,
I will follow you.
So in death we’ll be together,
Because our love is true.

Now that you’re dead,
My suicide looms.
So I cut myself and smile…
As darkness consumes.
