On the Walk Home

My tragedy meets you, my destiny fufilled. My pain meets the human race, again I walk away torn. Your intellect gets me through. I care not about them, but only you. I sit on the floor so broken, but I remember what you say. Everday you remind me, it'll all be okay. When I have sunken so deep beneath the surface, you are there to bring me back up. Why do they leave me to get hurt more? They do not give a fuck. Some say they care, but they are barely there. I'm not what they wanted, I'm just someone's who's around. I try to smile, but inside I just frown. My enemies hatred gets me down. I try not think, I don't want to sink. I look for the end of this day. The hours that pass never go my way. On the walk home, it's never bad. On the walk home, I'm never sad. On the walk home I could never get mad. You won't let me cross the street and get hit by a car. That makes me think we're close, but you still seem so far. The distance makes me fear. I'll be afraid to admit that I want you near. But when you walk away, I'll have to remember it'll all be okay. For today is not tomorrow, but tomorrow's another day.
