» Poem: Shattered Past
Shattered Past
written by KaoticKitty87

When I dream, I dream of the past
memories like shattered glass
always hear my mom screaming
while I was always crying
my brothers always fighting
all of us simultaneously dieing
dad was never there
mom with her angry glares
brothers being hit again
anger compelling clenched fists
whenever mom turned her back
they beat me til bleeding and black
bruised each day anew
but they would get to leave soon
leave me alone with the bitch from hell
living with her is like living in jail
the onslaught of emtional abuse began
no on to turn to, not even dad
I cry myself to sleep each night
because for me, there is no respite
