» Poem: Self destruction
Self destruction
written by mattwhatever

I’m living on the edge
Controlled by fear
I’m standing on the ledge

I haven’t slept for weeks
Out all night
Trying to find that which I seek

I’m internally combusting
Losing my friends and family
Every one I once had trust in

Hiding in drink
Hardly eating, hardly sleeping
My head forever in the sink

My heart wanders from one girl to the next
Forever disappointed
Eternally perplexed

I’ve started down a path
I don’t think I can stop
Let the world feel my wrath
As my heart and soul rot.
