find the key to me

to push me and watch me
falling down again
i'm not a toy
but i feel like i am
a toy for you to frown upon
rip me up and tear my heart
i have no control
and i bring it on myself
listening to your words
as they tear apart my soul
speaking as someone else
not as me
never can be
cant be me
trapped in your prison
that you put me in
yet i put myself there
i commited the crimes
to break your laws
for i was scared of your opinions
scared you'd hate me
hate the real me
so now i cant be me
acting like someone else
not as me
never can be
cant be me
like a nightmare
it's lasting far too long
need to get out and wake up
to be free but i'll never be
cuz i'm locked up
you threw away the key
been so long now i've forgotten
pretending to be some one else
not as me
never can be
cant be me
i just wanna get out
let me out
teach me how to be real
teach me how to be me
find the key
to the inner me |
