The Human Race
written by psycho_bunny08:14 AM 1/6/05I stand upon a mountain top,
staring down at the human race,
piering at their lies, their confusion and broken dreams.
I see the fear inside their eyes,
I hear the anger in their voices,
I know the pain the hide so dearly,
because their pain is also mine.
I escape the human race,
by standing on my mountain top,
seperate from the others,
alone and yet in their wake.
I am different from them yes,
and yet some traits remain the same,
it makes me feel disdain,
knowing that I share their weaknesses,
perhaps their fate.
I wish there was a way to know,
who will make it and succeed,
and who will simply disappear,
as if never seen,
gone as if from a dream.
But this I cannot know,
and my worries begin to grow...
If I am so different why do they fallow my lead?
If I am so different why do they admire me?
Why do they put me down,
yet ask for my attention?
I am part of their world... And yet I am not,
I feel like a misplaced knot,
am I one of them?
Or am I not? |

I am who I am... Yet I do not know what that means.
This poem represents the confusion of fitting in with the crowd and standing out.
I stand out, but yet I am not the same as the rest them... So that poses a question, where do I really belong? [ View psycho_bunny's Profile ] [ Go to the Poetry Portal ] This Poem has been viewed 406 times

always be yourself, it will make you so happy, and you will discover your true friends that way. dont even try to label yourself. |
