..........Hardships of a teenage life...
written by Schmall02:45 AM 1/12/05Hardships of a teenage life...
We are called generation "x"
Looked down upon, receive no respect.
They don't know the stress of our lives...
Discipline and frustration all of the time
Generations before us had it so easy...
Regardless they put the pressure on me,
We are the generation that will run this world
And when we do through our eyes they will see...
The way things were intended to be...
We will surpass generations of before,
And our voice will never again be ignored...
For we are generation hope
We are constantly put down,
And constantly smashed into the ground...
They try to bring us to our knees,
and make us succumb to their will...
Their distilled puppet, becoming psychologically ill
The stress of being a teenager in today’s society,
Causes a terrible emotional calamity...
School is such a big problem,
With all those put down, and pushed around...
Feeling left out, like they don’t belong
Causing others to abandon all hope and commit suicide,
Or pull off their own columbine,
Home is where the heart is they say,
Not when your parents tell you to go away...
We all feel just they like they do,
We all live just like them,
We all cry, We all bleed, We all die,
We all love, We all hate, We all try,
We all hope, We all dream, We all strive,
Were no different from them,
They just make things seem that way...
Suicide rate’s and drug usage are on the rise...
Teens hoping to escape their incomplete lives…
Then the parents are to blame...
But they point the finger once again,
Broken hearts from previous loves are the cause
Of teenage pregnancies and crime are beginning to show,
Because their parents never told them "no"
Or listened without judging or rebuking them,
Domestic abuse, broken homes,
And a child all alone, sitting in the corner,
Wishing to get away from it all falling victim to despair
Cursing at god, and hiding in the shadows...
To get away from the problems we have...
For no one was ever there, to help with issues,
Or to listen at what I have to share...
All these wasted words... Our voices are gone unheard....
Never will we be accepted in their eyes....
With no soul of our own, we are the silent youth
Enough oppression enough tyranny,
We are all an army and we must make a stand,
Stick up for ourselves and act as one,
Only then can we begin to mend all these emotional scars... |
