Never Together

How could this come to be?
We were friends, you and I.
And now every time I think of you I sigh.
I think of what you mean to me
But with you I cannot be seen.
What would people say?
Why did it have to turn out this way?
I'd never known you before,
And now it's you I adore.
But I love him and he loves me.
From this pain I want to be set free.
My heart is torn in two directions
All I want is love and affection,
But you could give it to me as well.
For now we'll have to let time tell.
You go your way and I'll go mine
So someday we can let our love for one another shine |
