War

Not to return
Countless tears shed
As dead bodies burn
Letters sent home
From miles away
Others with hope
Kneel down and pray
Honor and salute
To those we have lost
Not coming back
From the next holocaust
Dark desolate skies
In the middle of the night
The winter wind cries
As our troops continue to fight
As our men return home
From another victory
A widow sits alone
with a vague memory. |
