Still

And every day I cry,
They speak of you; I turn away,
Too many memories to try.
I hear your name again,
I breathe a heavy breath,
I shed another tear,
I die another death.
I still feel the kiss from months ago,
The one you pressed upon my lips,
The one that once made me so happy,
Until I turned to feel like this.
My emotional heart is gone,
My physical heart still feels the pain,
I grasp it to stop the pounding,
To stop, streaming from my eyes, the transparent rain.
I still smell the scent I've always known,
The scent I'd always loved,
The one when you were always so close to me,
Look how far we've both become.
I miss the way you touched me,
I miss all that we shared,
And I wish you hadn't pushed me away,
I miss the time when you cared.
I still remember all that you told me,
I remember every word we ever exchanged,
And to know that it means nothing anymore,
Is too much for me to explain.
When I said I loved you I meant it,
I still do and always will,
When I say it you might never see it,
Now I believe it when they say 'love kills'.
I still remember when I said I was sorry,
I still remember when I sat there and waited,
Waited for one more chance to be with you,
Then I found I was completely outdated.
I sit here at this keyboard,
Typing everything I want to say,
Because if you were here in front of my face,
It wouldn't come out the right way.
You were the part of me that is gone,
You had my heart when it pulsed blood,
I gave you all that I had to offer,
And, surprisingly, I'd give it all back to you no matter what.
I still want you to come back to me,
I'm willing to wait forever,
If forever is all that it takes,
For us to be together... |
