» Poem: She's Gone
She's Gone
written by brokenxsmile

She's going to leave you
Soon she'll be gone
She'll walk out that door
With her red shoes on
You bought her those shoes
You remember, don't you?
Back when you were faithful
And you always told the truth
She's packed her suitcases
She's lit her second cigarette
You don't even try to stop her
You know this is something she won't regret
You should've just paid more attention
And spent some more time at home
Instead of only coming home to sleep
And only talking to her on the phone
She walks towards the door; then stops
Turns and looks you in the eyes
She asked if you'll be okay; you said yes
But once again, you know you lied
She smiles at you and looks down
She puts out her cigarette
You remember you fell in love with her smile
And you tell her the good times you won't forget
You tell her once again that you're sorry
And she says you don't need to apologize
She turns and walks out the door
And you feel the tears forming in your eyes
And now she's out of your life
You didn't believe it, but she is gone
She left you with all the memories
At least you know she's happy and she's moved on
