sitting against a wall,
staring blankly out the window,
suddenly my eyes meet yours,
and all i see is pain........
don't try to tell me
that everything is alright,
i can see past that shallow lie,
i can see it in your eyes..........
and i'm drowning,
gasping for air in your pain,
suffocating my life,
sitting broken in the rain.........
lying on the floor,
phone pressed to my ear,
all i ask of you is the truth,
are you really okay?
don't bother faking your happiness,
'cause i can hear your pain,
i can hear it in your voice.........
and everything is dark now,
i fear i must have drowned,
my last breath escaping,
lying dead on the ground........
i stand alone now,
waiting for the tears to flood my eyes
and fall to pieces beneath me.......
deafened by the silence around me,
