Autumn Fever (please read and comment)
written by cryptic_misery05:27 AM 4/13/05When the fourth season of misery comes
And the leaves that fall turn to powder of ivory
We beg and pray for those last few leaves
To stay on the branches and never fall
For once the last leaf touches the ground
The wind kicks in and the blizzard begins
Each night becoming so hard to stay warm
And children start to have foolish nightmares...
It may seem as if snow is a blanket for the ground
To cover the life of color, the greens and the browns and reds
With the only thing left to glimmer on the reflection of water,
The orange banana leaves with an icy frost coating.
As we look out the window, we break out in a cold sweat
And our hearts sink to our stomachs when we see
Those two final leaves betray our wishes and beliefs
Those two final leaves that sink into the melting atmosphere
Those two final leaves leaving behind a world we once new as mother earth.
The light on the window fades, and declares it is now winter
So prepare for the harsh yet tender breeze
And watch the warp of winds surround the trees
Teaching them a cold serenity... and the branches mature to a coal and ebony nature...
I lay in the snow, and stare up at the purple skies, and hope the dance of the clouds in the trees
Will soonly bloom into spring.... |
