» Poem: A Million Summers
A Million Summers
written by UponSettingDay
09:14 PM 4/20/05
A million summers
In a glimpse of an eye
They seem too slowly
Slowly pass by
A million moments
Blown away
Never again will
They come and stay
A thousand friendships
Thought to never end
Simply left behind
To go play pretend
Now this rose
Will slowly wilt
Miss the seasons
Like nobody knows

Chorus:
Hope arises from my ashes
Like a phoenix from the flame
Remembers me in a time
When no one remembers my name

Fond memories
Are all that remain
But it’s only temporary
Until it’s overcome by pain
No more summers
Left on the run
No more moments
To have some fun
And now this rose
Has begun to die
Miss the seasons
And no one knows why

Chorus:
Hope arises from my ashes
Like a phoenix from the flame
Remembers me in a time
When no one remembers my name

I’m coming home
Finally
I’m coming home
Finally
