friendship

im young and free, this shouldnt be.
why do you hurt me so much.
what happened to your tender touch.
we was once close, even true.
now we are apart, you need to be new.
you go your way, i stay with mine.
the years gone by? iv counted nine.
were are just strangers, someone new.
you have forgotten the friendship which was true.
i notice you from afar,i see its you.
i smile, thinking of what friends make each other do.
sat in class messing around, so many years before.
even times we where fighting on the floor.
friends where friends, even after the fight.
so how did times get so dark, when they was so light?
why did we drift away, pull apart.
why did you push your friend out of your heart?
you cross the street, walk right past me.
i go to turn, to shout, to get you to see.
even after all the time we was apart.
your still my friend, you stayed in my heart.
i shout your name, you look at me blank.
i tell you who i am, you smile and thank.
your embrace the stranger, you failed to remember.
i remind you when we started school, of that cold september.
we chat over good times, describe our new life.
your married, 2 kids, you ask if i have a wife.
i tell you about me. about how my life has been.
you realise the grass on the over side isnt so green.
we swap numbers, knowing the over shall never call.
you walk off, head up, posture so tall.
i wonder away, cold and alone once more.
i go to my home, inside a wooden door.
i sit there in the cold. thinking, falling alseep.
realising im dying, to alone to weep.
dont forget about your friends,
you never know when they might need you. |

i wrote this after losing my 1st real friend. not that important i know. but she was my 1st in my 15 years of bein alive.

| wow... this is easily one of the best poems i've read... it hits me like a bolt of lightning shooting down my spine... when i read a poem like this i get the shivers... it's so beautiful... keep it up i lvoe your style |
