» Poem: Second Look
Second Look
written by bleedblack
06:09 AM 9/5/04
I look in the mirror
And see nothing but an empty soul
Slowly dying from the pain of society
The hazards of every-day life
Im afraid to see
What is meant to be seen

Terrified to take that second look
As I glance into that fearsome reflection

A smile seems to arise
I see the inside burning out
The shadows of doubt shedding
For they are now overcome

Ive come to realize that all I needed was that
Second look
To make me realize
That my outer soul was all I ever saw
Not who I really am

Rising from the ashes
Is the doubt that once ruled me
Scurrying away in shame

hell........what to say....i like it...you have a talent that you need to show more...i think that you have a lot of feelings bottled up inside and you found a way to express them(poetry). don't let anyones comments about your poetry ever keep you from writing, it still hasn't stopped me. o_+
