» Poem: Desire For Death
Desire For Death
written by Morbid Angel

I sometimes laugh at my tragedies,
Because life never turns out how we expect,
The clock ticks 12 as we run out of time,
People hurt others, world so unkind,
And we die when our innerselves fade away,
Everyone in time will forget my name,
Descend into the fires of hell

Slowly but surely we will all die,
Leaving the world for someplace new,
And in my life I'll follow you,
Desire for death burns my eyes

Souls filled with despair
I can predict my own deathly fate,
Rivers below await the blood to flow,
Rape my body and kill my soul.
It is now time, now I see,
Another moon rises, A sun falls,
God why have you forsaken me

Slowly but surely we will all die,
Leaving the world for someplace new,
And in my life I'll follow you,
Desire for death burns my eyes
