» Poem: remembering
remembering
written by Dhirsti
08:28 AM 4/15/04
memories hold what could never be
neither for you nor for me
time slips away slowly and sweet
ashes of letters burned at my feet
the night breathes a sigh
i try not to cry
though to no avail of mine
it seems nothing can be kind
stars fade away
did you forget that day?
it imprints on my heart
hopes of a new start
did it hurt what you were told?
a grasp you couldn't hold?
was there silence in the night
or were there sounds of fright?
did love come in your heart and creep
or do you still have secrets to keep?
someday will you remember me
or bitter will you always be?
does the night ever tell you what to do?
are the thoughts you hold of someone new?
life cascades my broken heart
keep me in mind although we'vew part.
