» Poem: Little Girl
Little Girl

"Little girl
you look so sad"
she replies to me
"I've been bad.
I broke a toy
and glued it together.
I tried to fix it,
to make it better,
but dady found out
and got really mad.
He yelled at me
and told me I've been bad.
Mommy came home
with bloodshot eyes,
I yelled for help
and she replied,
'Shut up you
little bitch
You deserve what you get!'
yelling with such a pitch
that shatters my ears,
confuses my pain.
Why must mommy and daddy
play this game?
Don't they love me?
Don't they care?
Shouldn't I feel warmth
and not their cold stare?
I try so hard
to be as good as I can.
Why must I be tortured,
is this God's plan?"
