» Poem: An Unhappy Child's Story
An Unhappy Child's Story
written by Poison Ivy
03:58 AM 9/18/04
There once was a girl,
who had no clue who she was,
what she could be,
or even what she wanted to be.
She never cared about anyone or anything because . . .
no one cared about her.
From the very beginning she was a mistake.
She was always that scary child that always sat in the back of the playground,
watching the other children play.
She was always that one person no one wanted to know. . .
That one girl everyone feared.
And as she grew, the more she came to realize,
that there was no place for her.
Over time she learned only to cry and how to bleed.
In school,
she never talked back to those kids who put her down,
or pushed her down.
When they were done laughing
(unless she was pushed down again),
she would just get up,
brush the dirt off her knees and keep walking, choking on her tears.
Soon she learned not to cry.
So she cut.
She would inflict pain onto herself,
until the only pain she could focus on,
was the wound.
But she always knew deep down,
that she didnt want to feel.
She wanted to be numb.
A core of stone.
And now, more then ever,
she feels too lost to be found.
But maybe she doesnt want to be.
Maybe she just wants to stay in her own little world,
and hate the world that made her the way she is now.
But either way,
she knows she will suffer.
So now the only friends she has,
are the demons within her view,
and her favorite razor blade
to hug her when she feels alone. . .
