Maybe Another Time

But I can’t promise you will be all right
I hope no fear comes to you
But Mommy can only hope
You would be my pride and joy
Mom would give her life for you
Daddy loves you, too.
At least I think he does.
You, child, would be our lives
But you don't exist yet
And Daddy has left us
Your silky brown hair and big hazel eyes
Exist only in my imagination
I don’t want you to come alive though
Or be held in my arms
Mommy would chase away the monster in your closet
If I even loved you at all.
But this is an accident
And you shouldn’t be coming
And I’m sorry, but you can’t be real
Because, honesty, I don’t want you,
I don’t want you coming in nine months
So I’m sorry you can’t be real
And please don’t hate me for this.
But maybe I will get to hold you in my arms
And maybe I will be able to feel you silky brown hair between my fingers
And look in your big beautiful eyes
But only until then will I love you, child
But just not now.
Maybe another time . . . |

to the unborn baby of my friend. this child was killed and robbed of a trip to the zoo, its first tooth, and many other things a child goes through. if only my friend wasnt so selfish, this baby might have changed this world, but sadly it is now dead. rest in peace, child with no name. . .
