second hand hurt

I write poems that cause lots of commotion
But I don’t mean to make others cry
I just try to get out how I’m feeling inside
I guess I’m sorry if I hurt you with what I write
I just want to bring you along on my emotional flight
Where I fly from happiness to wanting to cry
When I’m feeling down, I struggle to fly
Its hard not to let these feelings be known
I don’t feel so bad once they’ve been shown
Hurting others is the last thing these are intended to do
I know they help me and I hope they help you
I don’t want to pass along second hand hurt
Its meant as an alarm, a kind of alert
To let you know what’s wrong and how I feel
So you can follow me through my struggle and help me heal
Some things said are powerful and deep
From my heart and soul, these thoughts seep
Occasionally I don’t even know what I’m saying
Somehow in my head these rhymes start playing
I don’t know how I do it; it doesn’t take thought
It isn’t really anything that can be taught
You can either do it, or you cant
It’s really as simple as that
It’s simple like how easily others can be affected
One little word can leave a life misdirected
I try my hardest not to share and pain
Slowly the thought completely drains |

i kindof wrote this to my sister...she cried and cried when she read my poems about suicide and my hate for my dad i felt horrible for giving her pain
