We Cry

we dont know how many tears we will shed
we cry when we're babies cause we are confused
we cant talk so screams and cries are often used
we cry as toddlers as we learn not to fall when we walk
we cry to get attention cause noone understands our talk
we cry as children when we trip or fall
we look to our moms and dads to help us through it all
we become a little older and cry about different stuff
we get tired of our situations we've gone through enough
we cry as preteens cause we dont look right
we try to fit in and within ourselves we fight
we get a slight bit older and things go down hill from there
we dont understand and noone seems to care
we cry as teenagers because we'e alone and we feel lost
we will do anything for acceptence, no matter the cost
we cry because we're not ready for these emotions yet
we cry because we do things that later we'll regret
we cry between 20 and 40 as we meet the ones we'll marry
we cry when we have children cause the world theyre born into is scary
we cry as loved ones die and new ones are born
we cry when our heart strings become ripped and torn
we cry as we get older and realize our fate
we look upon our grandchildren, to save them, is it too late? |
