To my mom...

a crazy concern,
but what is it
exactly you
want me to learn?
That women are objects
placed on this Earth,
with no real feelings
and no self worth?
That abuse,
whether physical
or verbal does no wrong,
and that it's "normal"
to wake up and face it
so long?
That it's perfectly fair
to go back
on your promises,
so what if your child's heart
slowly demolishes?
I love you
through feelings
more than
words can express,
but the one thing
I won't do,
is follow your
footsteps. |
