» Poem: Not Many People
Not Many People

Not many people
can say they had someone
in their lives who made a difference
in who they are and in everything
they would become.
Not many people
can say they knew what it felt like to be loved,
really and truly loved,
that just being around that someone
made their world bright.
Not many people
can say they've done everything in their power
and would do anything in their power
just to see even a glimpse
of that someone's smile.
Not many people
can say they loved someone,
really and truly loved someone
to the point where they'd give their life to them,
to the point where they'd die for them...
but I can, and I stand here with pride,
thankful just to have known you,
and blessed to have had you in my life.
