» Poem: Standing in my blood
Standing in my blood
written by whatShouldUsBe
02:44 AM 9/29/04
As you turn and walk away,
I slowly begin to cry,
I beg and plead for you to stay,
no longer will I lie,
I do love you,
and I need you here,
I wouldn't know what to do,
if I didn't have you near,
If I had to live without you,
I wouldn't last long,
because without you,
there's no reason to be strong,
I try to deny that you're what I need,
to my selfish thoughts,
I shall never concede,
You walked out on me,
and didn't look back,
couldn't you see,
the happiness I'd lack,
Now that You've left me standing,
shivering in the rain,
I try to pretend that I understand,
as I choke back the tears and pain,
I thought I could live without you,
and deal with tis new pain,
I didn't know what to do,
you'd left me standing in the rain,
You left so suddenly,
I didn't have time to react,
no matter how long I stood there,
you were never coming back,
The next morning my phone rang,
it was you...... I started crying,
after I picked up the phone,
and told you I was dying,
you called an ambulance,
rushed through the rain and mud,
only to end your day crying,
standing in a puddle of my blood.
