» Poem: Beginnings
Beginnings
written by IceBound
02:50 PM 10/1/04
far off voices
whisper in the night
tender are the moments
just before light
speak to me love
and carry me across
the water burns
and my feet blister
a cry of pain
with tears of joy
a baptism in hell
or could this be heaven?

limbs reaching upward
grasping for something not yet there
a firey ball radiates and pulsates
heart rises and the air becomes chilled
seek me out
in a crowd of billions
draw me near
set me free
my soul yearns for freedom
a freedom this world cannot give
long for your touch
to be held in your embrace
keep me safe
my love
from myself
