» Poem: I Tried
I Tried
written by Fallen Beauty
09:02 PM 10/8/04
I tried to open up to you
To let you in my world
You told me what I ought to be
But Hate and Pain unfurled
I tried.

I told you what I felt inside
And what I thought about
You listened the you criticezed
And crushed my dreams with doubt.
But I tried.

Im only human
I make mistakes, too.
But maybe this last fault in me
Is just too much for you.
Even though I tried.

You raised me fine
This isn't your fault
But me without pain
Is like an ocean without salt.
Impossible, but I tried.

You used to dream of a future me
Of a scholar, prom queen, perfect baby girl.
I'm sorry I caouldn't live up to your dreams
'Cause I know I'm just an ugly pearl,
But I tried.

I just don't knowif I'll ever be
The way you'd wished I'd turn out,
But I do know I gave it my best shot
You said that's what it's all about.
That I tried.

But were you lying?
To me?
Your daughter?
Yourself?
Did u want me to try,
But need me to win?
I just can;t help it,
This body I'm in.

I'm sorry
For the way i am
I'll try to be good
Say "yes, sir" and "no, ma'am"
I'll try, again.

I did try, mommy. Forgive me.
