It's Mutual

The slower I'd die.
I made him frustrated
He made me cry.
I won't ever be
What he pretended,
He may never see
The game has ended.
That game of love
Of heartbreak and lust.
I'll watch from above
When I fall to dust.
And I'll see him there,
Dreaming of me now,
And scream in despair.
I'll never see how
He indulged his thoughts
And all he'd see
There were some blind spots
Where he didn't see me.
He only saw some
Of all that I am.
His words made me numb,
He was my biggest fan.
Never cesed to praise
All that I'd do
But one of those days
He found it not true;
Not true, what he deemed-
Me? Perfect? Never.
And although he dreamed
Of us together
I simply wouldn;t
I'd grow to regret
Things I couldn't
Or wouldn't do yet.
And before I know
Just what to say
He said, "I love you"
And I flew away.
My wings carried me
Away from his view
My heart, void of glee
'Cause I loved him, too. |
