Fine line between friends and enemies

You give and give and never seem to receive
Friend used to be a word of loyalty
Now friends have become the enemy
You help your friends climb the social ladders
While you’re left at the bottom, slightly battered
Friends used to be about truth and honesty
Friends have become the opposite of what they used to be
They can sneak up on you because they have your trust
Cautious behavior is a must
Friends have become masters at backstabbing
Bringing pain and fear with this knife jabbing
Somewhere within there’s a missing link
Friends are no longer what you may think
Be careful who gets the money you lend
Be careful whom you call your friend |
