» Poem: Faster Than Death
Faster Than Death
written by Morning Star
09:03 PM 10/14/04
I am a runner and no one can keep up
I have outran everyone and everything
Challenges made will be answered
In my vanity i spoke of outrunning death
So there came day
When Death gave a challenge
We ran like the wind across the face of the world
He passed me and I closed my eyes
With a burst of speed I
Came upon a body lying on the ground
I did not have to look
I knew it to be my rival
As I neared the finish I could see
A figure in black, waiting for me
Quickly I realized, the body miles back
Was not Death lyin there
It was me
