» Poem: Army
Army

"There's no escape"
Says the Commander General
"You're now in the place
of pure and unstoppable hell"

"If you back out now
You're a babby
If you go through the torcher
and suffering... only then... Maybe

"You are now MINE
Not your mama's
When you get out, if you get out
You can tell of the dramas

"You'll start on the ground
Now give me twenty
And then maybe a hundred more
Even then it mighten' be plenty

"You'll suffer, you'll cry
You'll hurt for a while
Now if you get naughty
You'll have to scrub each and every tile

"Now that's just the introduction
There's much, much more to come
Much more torcher, Much more pain
No more time for fun!"

Author's footnotes and comments on this Poem:
In this poen I see a man, all gruff and mean, who has seen what it means to be in battle. I see him walking up and down the men standing before him and belittling them in front of the others. Treading on their backs to force them to do the "20" properly.
