» Poem: Remember she died that day
Remember she died that day
written by izzzy

Tears
down the window pane
down her cheek
choked up with tears
she cannot speak
someone touched her shoulder
fear made her back away
lost without her mobile
she died that day

Hidden from her friends
hidden from her mum
lost in the wilderness
shamed from what she'd done
running away from life
running away from that day
taking up prostitution
she died that day

Why did she turn
why did she not hear
that love was so close to home
she was oh so near
her father was so worried
why did she run away
why didn't she go home
she died that day

Rotting was her corpse
lying bent and bold
the family was so shocked
when they were finally told
chipped and torn she was
looking far, far away
looking back into the past
she died that day

Trapped and all alone
she saw what had become
the life she wanted back
she screamed and there was no one
slowly her life was taken
painfully driven away
blood was all over her
she died that day

Driven to prostitution
remembering what her father said
"The risky life is not always good you know
One day you'll be dead"
The masked man heard her crying
"Don't cry, oh, not today"
the mask was pulled off, he shot her
she died that day

She wept and she did scream
"Why, oh, why me?
Take me home, why don't you.
Just let me, let me be!"
"Don't think so, my little girl.
Remember what I did say
The risky life is not always good, you know"
Remember she died that day.

Author's footnotes and comments on this Poem:
In this poem, the father want's to seek revenge of the daughter because she ran away from home and turned to prostitution and the father knew. The father acted as if he was shocked to find out about the daughter but it was him all along. I think the poem suggests that the daughter ran away because of the father in the begining because he may have sexually abused her and thus why the girl turned to prostitution because that was all she knew.
