» Poem: Ode to an Acoustic Guitar
Ode to an Acoustic Guitar
written by pongster182

Mom is disappointed
that my obsession is on something
expensive.
The gleaming wood of this
Obsession
shines
in the light,
like an angel,
leading my heart
towards the dream.
The dream
that kids want,
and the dream that
my obsession
brings.

The strings were
tight,
tuned
just right.
Perfect strands of copper
lay on top
of the neck and
body
like the scales of a
fish,
neatly
organized on the
body.
Copper shining from the light
through the water
and air.

The vibrations of
the strung
copper string
are earthquakes,
cracking
the surface
of my heart,
releasing
emotions
and the spirit of music.
