» Poem: I never knew
I never knew
written by Dhirsti

i never knew love could be soft
as this rose i hold in my hand
i never knew love could be
more than one grain of sand
i never knew love could be
anything like this painful memory
i never knew love could be
this darkness i sometimes see
i never knew dreams could fade
out of sight, gone forever...
i never knew it would be a lie
when you said you'd leave me never
i never knew things could change
such as the way they have now
i never knew how easy it was
for my heart to leave me somehow
i never knew love could be
the vast ocean that carries away a million grains of sand
i never knew love could be
lost, gone without a trace
but i knew when i started
someday tears might be streaming down this face
i never knew forever could be
always, neverending... always there
and i never knew love could leave
i thought you'd always care
