» Poem: Lullaby
Lullaby
written by izzzy

How can something so beautiful
Become of so much pain?
Why does all this waiting
Lead to the very best show?
Why does everyone want to take
My happiness away?
Just to check,
if my baby's okay.

Ten little fingers
Ten little toes
Nine month awaiting
That how it goes
To see that smiling face
To see those bright blue eyes
To hear that very first sound
The sound a baby cries

Wrapped up in a bundle
All close and tucked away
As I stare at this creation
Every night and every day
All I want is you to be safe
I want the best, that's true
I want to sing this lullaby
The one I made for you

Ten little fingers
Ten little toes
Nine month awaiting
That how it goes
To see that smiling face
To see those bright blue eyes
To hear that very first sound
The sound a baby cries

Author's footnotes and comments on this Poem:
I have to say I want a baby but as yet I am not in the position to have one. I already know all my kids names and this is the lullaby that I will sing to them.
