» Poem: End of an era
End of an era
written by izzzy

There are many people in my heart
Most of whom I will part
The strength that held us together
Has kept us as fine as a fine days weather

But one day that bond lets us go
And gets us drifting to and fro
For the day we met is long passed
For most of us, we'd thought it last

For all of you I hold some hope
Lord I pray help me to cope
I feel this day should never end
For that has meant I've lost a friend

I wish this day be the best for you
And for the entirity of your life through
For each of you are my friend
And I will miss you till the end

I wanted to have this poem published in the booklet for the graduation ceremony but alas I have not got my wish as is the case with most of my ideas. I hope you enjoy it.
