i love you like a weed

and found you there
i pulled you out and
tossed you out.
the next day you were
back in my heart and
were now in my bed
and in my shower
i called the ortho man
he couldn't help me
i called weed-be-gone
they couldn't help me
i kept pulling and pulling
you kept growing and spreading
pulling and pulling
growing and spreading
and then when times got hard
and the weather turned chilly
you were gone,
my fair weather friend
while i suffer, i smile
because i have the peace
yet i cry, because i know
you will be back next season |
