» Poem: That one person
That one person
written by izzzy

I hate feeling this way you know
Sadness encompassing me
Drowning me
Swallowing me whole
I'm so scared of another
mishapp
or
attack
or
sorrow spell

It is just debilitating
Then there is the tears
That gracefully dance
All over my face
As if on ice

Disheartened and in despair
Dazzling the onlookers
Eyes that are crystalised
By the tears
In contrasting shades of black
White and blue
Shocked and in pain
From the crystal eyes
Timeless

Quivering plump
Lushious lips
In a delicate
Shade of red
Hiding the pearly whites
In fear
Of being watched by
Another
Ashamed

Then Laughter
Pierces and cracks
The ice like face
Splitting it in two
Tearing it to shreds
Like friends sometimes do

Author's footnotes and comments on this Poem:
A person in a park, lamenting the daybreak and the possibility of going to work. This person is clearly depressed. Then a person comes along and tells a joke and the person feels that there is something to live for. That one person.
