» Poem: Sober and Dry
Sober and Dry

sober and dry...
having a bad day,
sittin back askin why
today, of all days, it had to be this way.

listening to you came first,
actually doing it was harder than i thought.
thinking of you, i resisted my thirst,
hiding from you was useless, i was caught.

if only you were here,
it would have lifted so much off my chest.
lookin back, i realize i've become what i fear,
lookin forward, to you was next.

your name reflects off the walls,
can't stop this feeling of missin you.
thinkin of you, and the day stalls,
brand new thought, a different view.

my addiction won't go away,
needing it, wanting it, it's eating away at me.
i hope you understand my curse and stay,
every second with you, is a second closer to the day when i'll be free.

sober and dry,
with you by my side, i won't give up.
i promise from this day forth, never to lie,
lookin forward to tomorrow, wish me luck
