Life without the Easter Bunny
written by Sugar Free08:44 PM 4/11/04There goes goes Peter Cotton tail
Hopping down the Bunny Trail
He passes my house with out a glance
the poor child inside given no chance
..........................................................
Every spring the other children glowed at the pastel colors of Easter
Chocolate Bunnies, Cadburry Eggs, and softly dyed hard boiled eggs
As I sit here on this Sunday afternoon, nothing is different for me
Never hada chocolate bunny, never had a basket full of goods
17 years and the Easter Bunny doesn't no me
My eyes were covered when walking through the mall
Parents convincing me I am just like everyone else
I knew I was different, I was not the same.
Twice in the year I get gipped from joy, never having Christmas toys.
Jesus Christ, a man I do not know, He is not in my heart, or anwhere else
Being an Athiest takes its toll, childish dreams were unknown.
I was immune to it all untill I turned 11 years old
I realized then, I was not the same, everyone else celebrated the birth and death of christ.
life without an Easter basket or a stocking ain't bad,
I have never been spoiled rotton and boy am I glad |
