so innocent, precious and pure

yet you had a boyfriend
you knew he was bad
smoking, drinking,
in a gang?!
what the hell were you thinking!?!
why didn't you listen to me
this time?
baby, you didn't want to
so, why'd you do it?
you're my baby
so innocent, precious,
and pure........
he took all that away
baby, why didn't you tell me?
why didn't you come to me
and tell me whats wrong?
he took the most precious thing you had
and I swear he'll pay for it
He took my baby,
the one that told me everything
that always cried to me
why didn't you take my hand this time?
you're growing up too fast
you think you know everything..........
but you don't
baby, please let me guide you
I'm scared for you
I don't know where you're going to be
when you're 16
I want you to be
where I am now
but, I'm afraid
I want to protect you somehow
but you're so far away
and...I don't think you're my baby anymore
and it hurts me to let you go
and watch you fall
I know you'll fall hard
but I swear I'll be there
to help you up
you're growing up
I can't catch you anymore
as much as it hurts me
I gotta let you go
don't cry baby
I'll be here for you
from a distance
you'll decide when to grab my hand
but for now, I gotta look away
cause I can't watch you fall
I hope you open your eyes soon
and see what you're doing
before it's too late |
